Bauer College of Business

Admission Requirements  > Transfer Student Admission Requirements > Bauer College of Business

Transfer applicants who have earned fewer than 30 semester hours of college credit must meet the Bauer College of Business requirements for high school graduates.

Applicants to the Bauer College of Business who have earned between 30 and 60 semester hours must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Students who have earned more than 60 semester hours must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average over the last 60 hours of college level work attempted.

Non business majors seeking minors in business, with the exception of the Business Foundations minor which requires a 2.0 or higher cumulative grade point average at UH, must have the same grade point average requirements as students changing their major to pre-business at the time of filing for a minor.

Transfer students admitted to UH as a non-business major with 45 or more hours are not eligible to change their major to pre-business as a UH student.

Non-degree-seeking reciprocal exchange and summer visiting and transient students must meet the minimum requirements for admission to the university. These applicants are admitted on a non-degree-seeking basis in accordance with university and college guidelines for these categories of admission, and may not be admitted as degree-seeking into the undergraduate business program unless they meet the degree-seeking requirements for admission to pre-business.

Postbaccalaureate students are not eligible to pursue an undergraduate degree in the Bauer College of Business. Postbaccalaureate students instead may consider applying for a masters-level degree program or the Certificate in Accountancy Program.

Admission requirements for the Certificate of Accountancy Program (CAP) are as follows: (1) the equivalent of a four-year undergraduate degree, and (2) the minimum requirements for undergraduate admission to the university. CAP applicants are admitted on a non-degree-seeking basis and may not be admitted as degree-seeking into the undergraduate business program. (For information on the CAP, see under the Department of Accountancy and Taxation.)
