Admission Requirements: College of Architecture

Each person seeking admission to the graduate programs in the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture must meet the general requirements for graduate study at the University of Houston, and must submit an application for graduate studies, two copies of all official transcripts, GRE scores, and three letters of recommendation as well as a resume and a completed Applicant Questionnaire. The applicant should refer to the University of Houston and College of Architecture Web sites for detailed information.

Application Fee

In addition to the general requirements outlined above, the applicant should refer to the specific application requirements for the entrance level appropriate to his or her background. The College of Architecture requires a $50 graduate application fee. International applicants must submit an additional $75 in addition to the $50 graduate application fee.

Deadline for Admission

The admission deadline for students applying to the Master of Architecture, Master of Arts in Architectural Studies and Master of Science in Architecture programs is February 1. Summer admission is available on a case-by-case basis to Master of Science in Architecture and master of Arts in Architectural Studies applicants only.
Master of Architecture applicants are admitted for fall only.

The admission deadline for students applying to the Master of Science in Space Architecture and Master of Science in Industrial Design programs is October 1. Spring and fall admission are available for these programs only.
