Introduces the basic principles and latest advances in polymer chemistry and their applications. Lectures will cover polymeric synthetic approaches and how chemistry helped polymeric materials gain importance in not only providing bulk commodity products but also in finding uses as biomedical devices, delivery systems, nanodevices and sensor materials. The renaissance of polymer chemistry has fast forwarded the development of specialty products through the preparation of well-defined polymers with distinct properties.
