Description
Information visualization offers instruments for reasoning about quantitative information, analyzing and communicating statistical information. The course overviews the main typologies of data graphics (data-maps, time-series, space-time narrative, relational diagrams, graphs and methods for dimensionality reduction) and provides a language for discussing data visualizations combined with a knowledge of the human perception of visual objects. The course teaches how to visualize information effectively by using statistical methods, combined with knowledge of the human perception and the basics of data graphics.
