Prerequisite: Doctoral standing or permission from the instructor.

The development and use of the qualitative research processes that are central to all forms of grounded theory. Students will gain an understanding of the epistemological, historical and philosophical underpinnings of grounded theory. Students will be able to apply the principles of grounded theory processes to data collection, preparation, and analysis using the constant comparative method and understand the similarities and differences between the different schools of grounded theory.
