Director:
Elizabeth Gregory

Overview

The critical perspective of women’s studies establishes gender as a fundamental category of social and cultural analysis, linking gender with class, race, ethnicity and sexual identity to analyze the diversity of women’s experience .

The Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies Program at the University of Houston seeks to provide equal opportunities and is open to all students without regard to sex, race, color, religion, sexual identity, national origin, age, handicap, or veteran status. The university is committed through the Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies Program to bringing its expertise to the analysis and investigation of women’s evolving roles, history, and contributions to humankind and the role of gender in shaping society.

The Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies Program is housed in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (605-7 AH) and is administered by Dr. Elizabeth Gregory.
