Admissions

The Master of Science in Pharmacy Leadership and Administration is a cooperative program with a concurrent residency in Hospital Pharmacy Administration  with one of seven Texas Medical Center Institutions.  Requirements for acceptance include a pharmacy degree and eligibility for Texas State Licensure by the first of September for the residency portion.  An on-site interview will be required.

Graduate Research

Students may develop research programs in the areas of pharmaceutical management, pharmaceutical marketing, clinical pharmacy management, behavioral pharmacy, health outcomes, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, health policy, or managed care.

Concurrent Residency

The concurrent M.S./Residency program is designed to prepare pharmacists with the knowledge and skills to assume positions of leadership in health care.  The 24-month program offers unique learning, teaching, and collaboration opportunities to complete an M.S. in Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy with a focus on Pharmacy Leadership from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and concurrently complete PGY1/PGY2 residency training from seven leading Texas Medical Center institutions:

  • Memorial Hermann Health Care System
  • Houston Methodist Hospital
  • Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center
  • Texas Children’s Hospital
  • MD Anderson Cancer Center
