The certificate program includes a series of 3 core courses (9 hours) followed by a 6-hour internship (for a total of 15 Credit Hours).  The core courses taught by college faculty in collaboration with museum partners provide the foundation of museum education, including the history, theory, practice, and application of museum education principles.  Designed in collaboration with a host museum, the museum internship at an art, history, or science museum aligns with the students’ area of interest. The museum education professional certificate program prepares educators to use museums as educational resources and/or work in an art, history, or science museum setting. The specialization area is Curriculum and Instruction, MEd for Art Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.  For further information, consult the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, 236 Farish Hall, 713-743-4950.
