Accountancy Certificate

The Certificate in Accountancy Program (CAP) was developed for

  1. post-baccalaureate students who need to fulfill the accounting-prerequisite-course requirements for the Master of Science in Accountancy (MSACCY) program and for
  2. non-degree-seeking, post-baccalaureate students who need additional courses to meet the educational requirements for the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy Uniform CPA Examination and
  3. to offer courses to students who may be changing careers.

CAP courses are mainly offered in the evening and occasionally on Saturdays. Students who complete at least ten courses in the program and meet the GPA requirements are awarded the Certificate in Accountancy. Specialized courses in oil and gas and internal audit are offered through the program.
