Arts Leadership, MA - (Various) Dual Degree Option

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: College of The Arts - Schools and Programs

Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts  > School of Art  > Arts Leadership Program  > Arts Leadership, MA - (Various) Dual Degree Option

Admission Requirements

Students who want to pursue the dual degree, must apply to both degree programs due to the distinct application requirements of each. The MM, DMA and MFA degree programs require either an audition or the submission of a visual portfolio; the MA degree programs in art history and in theatre studies require writing samples and a GRE score; and the MAAL program requires a résumé of academic and professional work experience.

Declaration and Completion of Degrees

Students may choose to enroll in both degree programs concurrently or sequentially. If the latter, a student must declare the second degree prior to completion of the first in order to apply nine hours from the first degree to the second. The student may declare the second degree at any time prior to completion of the first.

Per graduate school policy, students must complete each degree within five years from the date of admission to the degree program.

If a student does not complete the second degree for any reason, they will graduate with only their first degree assuming it was completed.

International Students and Visa Extensions:

International students who declare the second degree after enrolling in the first, must apply for a visa extension at the time of application to the second degree. International students who declare both degrees when they apply to the university, should request visas for the duration of the combined programs; e.g., MA Arts Leadership (2 years) + MFA Studio Art (3 years) would be five years.
