College of Technology  > Department of Information and Logistics Technology  > Accelerated B.S./M.S. Degree Program in Computer Information Systems/Engineering Technology - Specialization in Network Communications

Accelerated pathway dual degree programs provide academically outstanding students an accelerated pathway to complete an undergraduate and a master’s degree in a reduced period of time. Accelerated pathway programs provide undergraduate students permission to take a specified number of master’s level courses as electives toward completion of their bachelor’s degree. The students then apply to the graduate degree program, and if accepted, the previously completed graduate coursework during the senior year is counted as transfer credit toward the completion of the master’s degree.

Students wishing to apply for the B.S. in Computer Information Systems/M.S. Engineering Technology Network Communications accelerated pathway program must meet the following requirements:

  1. Currently enrolled in Computer Information Systems, B.S.
  2. Junior standing and completion of 30 semester hours of College of Technology coursework
  3. Minimum 3.0 GPA over all course work
  4. Minimum 3.25 GPA over all College of Technology course work
  5. Approval from the undergraduate Program Coordinator for Computer Information Systems
  6. Approval from the graduate Program Coordinator for Engineering Technology Network Communications

Students may choose up to 6 hours to apply to both the undergraduate and graduate degrees from the approved list.

  • ELET 6302 - Advanced Wireless Networks
  • ELET 6318 - Analysis of Data Networks

Students enrolled in the accelerated program must complete the graduate application process before formal admission to graduate school. The admission committee reviews the entire application when making an admission decision.
