Optional Practical Training

The following is a recommendation for a policy for F-1 students who have participated in pre-or postcompletion OPT (Optional Practical Training) but did not complete their degree as expected. They may:
- Enroll in research/thesis dissertation for a minimum of three credit hours while maintaining full-time participation in OPT (Optional Practical Training).
- Return to the University as a full-time student with the option to continue to participate in OPT.
