Policies > Degree Requirements > Termination of Enrollment
A satisfactory rate of progress toward the degree is required throughout a student’s enrollment. A department may terminate enrollment at any time if the rate of progress is not satisfactory. A student whose enrollment is terminated will be notified, with an explanation, in writing by the chair of the department of the major. Copies of this notice and explanation will be sent to the dean of the student’s college and to the Graduate School. Students whose enrollment is terminated due to unsatisfactory academic progress will not be permitted to re-enroll in a graduate degree program without special approval from the Dean of the College and the Dean of the Graduate School. The College readmitting the student will have to specify in the offer letter of admission the time frame required for the student to raise the cumulative graduate GPA back to a minimum 3.00 to remain in the program.
