COSC 6309 - Introduction to Automata and Computability

Credit Hours: 3.0
Lecture Contact Hours: 3   Lab Contact Hours: 0
Prerequisite: consent of the Director of Graduate Studies.

Credit may not be applied toward a graduate degree in Computer Science. Introduction to automata theory (finite state automata, pushdown automata, Turning machines; formal systems; computability, Church-Turing thesis. Students must make an oral presentation on aspects of the course content.
Note: Credit may not be applied toward a graduate degree.
