Description Explores key issues and debates in classic and contemporary works in anthropological linguistics, as well as ethnographic approaches derived from linguistics and literary criticism. Chomskyian “revolution”, semantics, structuralism, post-structuralism and postmodernism, semiotics, discourse analysis, ethnography of speaking, verbal art performance, metaphor and other symbolism, and connections between myth, history, and memory.
