Completion of the BS in Geology or Geophysics requires several extended off-campus field trips which involve moderate to strenuous outdoor activity (e.g. all-day field exercises and hiking), including a 5 week capstone field course in Montana for the Geology BS, and a 3 week capstone field course in Galveston for the Geophysics BS. Students who feel they may not be able to fulfill this requirement should talk with Geology and Geophysics undergraduate advisor before declaring their major.
