Data Science Minor

The purpose of the Data Science Minor is to infuse computational thinking into every discipline, going beyond technical skills, and using data science as a way to provide students with the knowledge of data analysis, critical thinking, and analytical solutions design.

The minor is not available to computer science majors.

Students who choose to minor in data science must complete the general requirements for a minor as well as the following:

Requirements

Data Science:

COSC 1336 - Computer Science and Programming Credit Hours: 3.0
COSC 2306 - Data Programming Credit Hours: 3
COSC 3337 - Data Science I Credit Hours: 3
COSC 4337 - Data Science II Credit Hours: 3
Three hours of approved courses at the 3000- or 4000-level.
