Cullen College of Engineering > Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering > Construction Engineering, B.S.Con.E.
The BS in Construction Engineering program combines civil engineering and business principles to produce graduates who can design and manage the construction processes that create and rehabilitate the public infrastructure. This includes design and construction of commercial buildings, airports, dams, roads, utilities, bridges, residential communities, and schools. The curriculum includes the math, science, and engineering courses required for engineering licensure, as well as the practical business and management concepts construction professionals need.
Construction Engineering majors are required to follow all requirements and regulations outlined in the Academic Information - Cullen College of Engineering section of the Undergraduate Catalog.
When seeking transfer credit for engineering courses, students are expected to include detailed syllabi, as well as graded assignments and exams, with their petitions requesting course credit.
The Construction Engineering Major GPA is calculated using all attempts of the following courses taken in residence at the University of Houston: all CNE courses, all CIVE courses, ENGI 1331 - Computing and Problem Solving for Engineers , ENGR 2301 - Mechanics I (Statics) , and MECE 2336 - Mechanics I .
