About the Certificate

The Internal Audit (IA) Certificate is open to all undergraduate majors and seeks to provide students with the most modern theory and practice regarding the field of Internal Auditing. The IA courses are taught by current practitioners in the field, who incorporate real world experience into the curriculum. The Accountancy & Taxation Department at the C. T. Bauer College of Business has one of only 13 internal audit programs in the world and one of only 8 in the country to be recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Networking

Students involved in the IA Certificate are provided with an abundance of opportunities to network and earn internships with internal audit firms. Through corporate events, colloquium courses, and mixers, students are able to network with the top employers in the accounting industry. 

Requirements


To earn the IA Certificate, a student must:

  • Complete (3) three required courses with a 3.0 cumulative GPA for the courses. Courses cannot be substituted for the required list.
  • earn a passing letter grade for each certificate course.
  • Earn a minimum 2.5 cumulative and accounting major GPA.

Certificates are processed and usually mailed 4-6 weeks after the final grades are posted to the student’s record.
