This program prepares Master Technology Teachers to ensure that there are teachers with special training to work with other teachers and with students in order to increase the use of technology in each classroom; helping school districts identify teachers with an expertise in technology integration and mentorship in technology skills. The program structure prepares candidates for certification as master teachers and provides a candidate relevant experiences in a variety of educational settings with diverse student populations (Title 19, TAC §239.100). The practicum experience requires a candidate to demonstrate proficiency in each of the applicable standards (Title 19, TAC §239.100).
Certification criteria include twelve (12) graduate credit hours, a college certification plan, and state minimum and issuance requirements for certification (Title 19, TAC §239.103).
