UH Libraries serves the UH community by enhancing student learning, participating in the development of scholarly research and creative output, and promoting discovery of information and knowledge from diverse and relevant resources.
Students have access to the spaces and resources provided by UH Libraries with their Cougarnet credentials. Databases, journal articles, e-books, video, audio, and more can be accessed online. Digital Collections and the Audio/Video Repository provide access to rare and unique digitized and born-digital materials documenting the University of Houston, the City of Houston, and the State of Texas, as well as other historically and culturally significant materials.
MD Anderson Library offers users flexible and inviting spaces for both collaborative and individual work, resources for developing presentations projects, enhanced access to computing technology and advanced applications, and options for reserving equipment and spaces. A sound recording studio is also available for the production of audio projects.
Special Collections, located on the second floor of MD Anderson Library, supports the teaching and research activities of the University. Primary source materials in a variety of collecting areas, including Carey Shuart Women’s Research Collection, Energy & Sustainability Research Collection, Houston & Texas History Research Collection, and LGBT History Research Collection, are preserved, organized, and made accessible for the scholarly community and the general public.
The Digital Research Commons, located on the second floor of MD Anderson Library, facilitates interdisciplinary research and builds communities of practice around digital research methodologies.
UH Libraries offers a variety of research services open to all UH scholars at any stage of the research process; and supports the learning needs of students through teaching partnerships with faculty.
