HON 4302 - The Holocaust and Medical EthicsCredit Hours: 3.0 Lecture Contact Hours: 3 Lab Contact Hours: 0 Prerequisite: ENGL 1304 and HONS 3301. Description This class explores the ethical precedents and legacy of Nazi experimentation on human beings during WWII. Topics will include, the Milgram and Zimbardo/Stanford Prison obedience experiments, the Tuskegee syphilis experiment, and the conduct of research with human participants (from ‘informed consent’ to the Belmont Report and beyond). Students will interact with experts from the Texas Medical and the Houston Museum District.
