The Certificate in Entrepreneurship provides foundational knowledge and skills required to start or grow a business. This certificate is housed in the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, home of the nationally ranked Entrepreneurship major in the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship. This certificate is exclusively for non-degree-seeking post-baccalaureate (PB) students. Awarding of the certificate requires completion of the course requirements and a minimum GPA of 2.0 on all attempted courses for the Certificate. PB students may not qualify for financial aid.

Prerequisites

Admission to the University of Houston as a non-degree-seeking post-baccalaureate student.

Course Requirements

15 semester credit hours total

ACCT 2301 - Principles of Financial Accounting Credit Hours: 3.0 or alternative
MARK 3336 - Introduction to Marketing Credit Hours: 3.0 or alternative
ENTR 3310 - Entrepreneurship Credit Hours: 3
or
ENTR 3311 - Technology Entrepreneurship Credit Hours: 3
6 credit hours of Advanced Entrepreneurship Electives Credit Hours: 6.0 *

* Students may consult the Entrepreneurship Advisor for elective and approved substitutions.
