C.T. Bauer College of Business  / The Honors College  > Honors Entrepreneurship Certificate

The Certificate in Honors Entrepreneurship is offered jointly through the C. T. Bauer College of Business and The Honors College. It provides Honors College students of all majors with in-depth exposure to the entrepreneurial process. This certificate combines the faculty expertise of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, home of the nationally ranked Entrepreneurship major in the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship, with the benefits of an Honors College educational experience. The certificate is awarded to students who have completed the certificate requirements and who apply for the certificate along with their application for graduation (and includes an additional certificate fee).

Prerequisites


Admission and matriculation in The Honors College at the University of Houston and a UH Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Requirements


This certificate is exclusively for degree-seeking undergraduate students in The Honors College of any major, business or non-business, and requires six (6) credit hours: ENTR 3310 plus a three (3) credit hour ENTR elective.

Taught in a small, discussion-based setting, this Honors designated course provides students with foundational knowledge of the entrepreneurial process, from the conceptualization of an idea to the implementation of a new business venture. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, innovation and creativity.

Elective Options


Three (3) credit hours of approved Entrepreneurship coursework. Course options vary by semester and must be listed in The Honors College Coursebook with an “H” suffix and/or petitioned for Honors credit. Options may include:
